In a surprising development on Thursday, Arizona’s Fifth District Congressman Matt Salmon announced he wouldn’t run for reelection.

Salmon has endorsed State Senate President Andy Biggs to be his successor, but that isn’t expected to stop people from also jumping in the race. Former lawmaker Stan Barnes of Copperstate Consulting gave some clues as to what’s next and who else may run for the seat.
