Large scale marijuana seizures at the Mariposa Port of entry in Nogales are up this year. 

Customs and Border Patrol agents stopped an Arizona-bound tractor-trailer on Thursday. It was carrying $4.5 million worth of marijuana hidden in a shipment of pumps and machinery.

According to the Nogales International newspaper that was at least the sixth incident at the Mariposa port so far in 2016 in which authorities discovered a marijuana load valued at more than $1 million. That’s the same number of million-dollar busts reported at the facility in all of 2015.
