As the Valley is changing, it’s becoming ever more important to document our past. That’s the view of longtime Phoenix resident Derek Horn.

He spent most of his career working in city planning in Phoenix and retired a few years ago as the acting planning and development director for the city. Now, he’s written a new "Images of America" book about midtown Phoenix.

Horn will talk about his book Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. at Changing Hands bookstore.
