Alternate delegates react to Senator Ted Cruz's speech.

KJZZ’s Jude Joffe-Block is in Cleveland for the Republican National Convention and joins The Show for an update. 

Wednesday night was supposed to be about vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence’s speech, but an earlier speaker kind of stole some of his thunder. What did Arizona delegates have to say about Ted Cruz’s speech, and his non-endorsement of Donald Trump?

"They wanted to hear a really strong endorsement from Cruz," Joffe-Block said. "They felt like that was the pivot they had made and they wanted to see him do it too...There were a lot of people in that camp who felt very upset and betrayed."

But, Joffe-Block said, there were some in the Arizona delegation who felt proud of Cruz.

Will this affect the party in the November election?

"There are some people who are saying without this endorsement from Cruz it might be a lot harder for the Republican party to unify and be strong heading into November," Joffe-Block said. Although others said it might have turned off Cruz supporters.
