McCain says response to attack in Benghazi was cover-up

Arizona Senator John McCain is calling the administration's response to the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya a cover-up. McCain said the revision of the 'talking points' to be used by Ambassador Susan Rice after the attack was a willful removal of information. Speaking on ABC's “This Week,” McCain criticized White House spokesman Jay Carney for his characterization of a series of emails about the issue.

“I like Mr. Carney, but that’s just not acceptable for the present Spokesman to say that to the American people when we now know any reference to active terror, any reference to Al Qaeda were removed from those talking points,” McCain said.

McCain also criticized then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, saying she could be involved in the cover-up.
