Officials in Mexico say the country has created a special investigative unit to search for missing people.A list created by the administration of former Mexican President Felipe Calderon and made public earlier this year included more than 26,000 people in the country who were missing. Some families have accused drug trafficking groups or law enforcement officials of being responsible.

Mexico’s Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said the special investigative unit will include 12 federal investigators and a group of federal police agents as support. Murillo Karam said the new unit will help families of the missing to avoid the bureaucratic maze that many of them had previously run into.

Some women who attended Murillo Karam’s news conference expressed skepticism about the investigative unit shouting, “There is no justice in this country!”
