A new poll shows there is strong support from across the political spectrum in Arizona, for the so-called 'Gang of Eight' immigration reform plan, in the US Senate. The poll from the conservative-leaning Harper Polling, shows 65 percent of state residents of all political parties, favor the measure, which includes a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants already in the US. Brock McCleary, president of Harper Polling says there's strong support from Republicans.

“Republicans, conservatives, moderates, whatever they may be, have found that impeding progress on reform, standing in the way of getting this problem resolved, has really exacerbated it,” McCleary said.

Sixty-four percent of the Arizonans polled say they would be more likely to vote for an elected official who supports the Senate legislation, which passed its first procedural hurdle last week.
