Your next weekend excursion to Las Vegas may feature easier driving. That’s because of a new traffic system announced Monday.

The expression “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” has included you getting stuck in traffic on your way home. But Vegas is looking to change that by installing a high-tech system designed to improve traffic flow and safety.

Traffic technology company Acyclica will install sensors across Vegas’ 2,300 intersections, to monitor how well vehicles move. The sensors will allow the city to monitor traffic from a control center, where engineers will be able to analyze trends and adjust traffic signals.

Acyclica also said any driver in Las Vegas will soon have access to smart technology that will signal when lights are going to turn green.

Autonomous cars will also have access to real-time traffic light data so they’ll know when to stop or slow down.
