Minerals and mining giant Freeport-McMoRan said Friday that it will cut operations and staff in Indonesia in the near-term, if the government there continues to delay approval to export copper concentrate.

Thirty percent of Freeport’s total copper production is mined in Indonesia.

Exports have been halted since Jan. 12. The Indonesian government’s ban on ore was put in place to force companies, like Freeport, to build smelter processing plants there.
