The Congressional race in Arizona’s 1st District is still too close to call. Only about 380 votes separate the two Republicans who want to unseat Democratic incumbent Ann Kirkpatrick.

Arizona House Speaker Andy Tobin currently leads Springerville rancher Gary Kiehne, but the margin of votes between the candidates is razor thin.

All 327 precincts have reported their ballots in the massive 1st Congressional District that stretches from Flagstaff to the Tucson area.  But a spokesman with the Secretary of State’s office said there are still thousands of early and provisional ballots that have to be counted in the race.

He said the results won’t be certified until the outcome of the election is canvassed in ten days. After that, if the final vote tally is still very close, within a percentage point or two, a judge will have to determine if an automatic recount is required.
