Roads, freeways and on-ramps will close Tuesday for the funeral of a Phoenix fire captain who recently died from injuries she suffered in 2009. Transportation officials want drivers to consider alternate routes.

The funeral for Phoenix Fire Captain Crystal Rezzonico will be at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria. It’s expected to end around noon. 

Sixty Seventh Avenue will close from Happy Valley Road to the Loop 101. Eastbound Loop 101 also will close from 75th Avenue to Interstate 17. Southbound I-17 will close from the Loop 101 to  McDowell Road.

The procession will then head westbound on McDowell, and south on 27th Avenue to Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery.

All roads will re-open as soon as possible after the procession has passed.
