Goodyear residents will head to the polls today to vote in the city’s primary election.

Incumbent Mayor Georgia Lord faces Jim Cavanaugh, who she replaced as mayor when Cavanaugh resigned in 2010. 

Five other candidates, including a pair of incumbents, are vying for three open seats on the City Council.

If necessary, Goodyear will hold a general election in May.
