Republic Reporters Discuss Analysis Of School Voucher Program

The debate over Arizona’s school voucher program reached a fever pitch this year as the program has expanded rapidly.

Lawmakers and advocacy groups that fight for vouchers argue that financially disadvantaged families from struggling school reap the benefits of expanding school choice.

But a new analysis from The Arizona Republic shows that more than 75 percent of the money pulled out of public schools for the Empowerment Scholarship Account program came from higher-performing districts in more affluent areas.
