After a last place finish, the Phoenix Suns are sure to see changes coming. One of those changes will also be off the basketball court.

Veteran sportscaster Steve Albert has announced his retirement, deciding in his words to “step away from the business” citing a taxing travel schedule and the demands of an 82-game NBA schedule.

Albert, the brother of fellow play-by-play men Marv and Steve, has called Suns games on TV for the past five seasons and says in a team release he’d like to write book about his 45 years in broadcasting.

Suns radio play-by-play voice Al McCoy, though, continues his legendary career. As the league’s longest-tenured broadcaster, McCoy just finished his 45th season behind the mic.
