U.S. House Republicans Attempting To Revive Health-Care Bill
Republicans in the U.S. House are attempting to revive health-care legislation this week and are hoping to win over skeptical members of the Freedom Caucus.
Arizona’s Trent Franks is one them. He admits the new proposal being floated doesn’t cleanly repeal and replace Obamacare, but Franks says it’s close enough for him to support and believes they’ll have the votes to pass the House.
"Unless there is a major dissent by some of the moderate, you know, left of center members — and there are not many of them in our Republican caucus — this will probably make the difference," Franks said.
While he believes the new health-care bill falls short of what many wanted, Franks feels they’ve made significant progress in the past few weeks and are close to a compromise deal.
