Arizona’s senior senator is concerned, but John McCain said he is not surprised by revelations of Donald Trump Jr.’s meetings with an alleged Russian operative.

On his way to the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday,  McCain hinted there would be more potentially damaging information to come.

“We’ve heard of many allusions and many stories of meetings and communications and stuff, yeah. So, they’ll be many more shoes that will drop," he said.

In emails released by Trump Jr., he discloses taking knowingly a meeting with a Russian lawyer last year who claimed to be connected to the Kremlin and had damaging information on the Clinton campaign.

The White House has denied any collusion. McCain has been one of President Trump’s harshest critics on his dealings with Russia.

In the meantime, a published report by McClatchy News said McCain faces questions in an British anti-defamation lawsuit. It concerns leaks that led to the publication of the now infamous Steele dossier alleging the Trump campaign had connections to Russian operatives.
