Sky Harbor reports more than 120,000 passengers arrive and depart on a typical day.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport will be busy again this holiday weekend.

Heather Lissner, spokeswoman for the airport, said traffic is up by double-digit percentages through Jan. 2 due to returning vacationers as well as sports fans.

“Over this holiday season, we’ve had about a 20 percent increase in holiday traffic. We are busy not only due to holiday traffic but due to Cactus and Fiesta Bowl traffic with visitors coming in and out of Arizona," said Lissner.

Lissner reminds travelers to check their flight status before coming to the airport and so should those who are picking up friends and loved ones.
