Arizona is one of five states driving nationwide demand for air filtration in cars.

Rising commercial and industrial activities, deteriorating air quality and increasing car sales are reasons for the rapid rise in demand for air purifiers, according to the latest Energy and Natural Resources Market Report.

Arizona, California, New York, Illinois and Ohio are states where demand is highest for air purifiers.

Air pollution and auto emissions are named as the reasons. The report says high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) and activated carbon based air purifiers are most popular.

The total market is projected to grow by 8 percent each year through 2021.
