Promise Arizona is an organization that aims to promote the power of the Latino community in Arizona. The group will host a “Rally for Migrants” Sunday night, highlighting the separation of immigrant families.

Between May 6 and May 19 more than 600 children were separated from their families. That’s according to Petra Falcon, the executive director of Promise Arizona. 

"Immigrants have been separated, separated by borders, separated by an immigration system that is inhumane," Falcon said. "And most recently, we know that a lot of kids are being separated at the border, at the port of entries and are not reunited.”

The event starts at 6 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church in Phoenix.

“It’s just a block south of the ICE building on Central," Falcon said. "So we’re going to walk over there, process over there and continue our evening. It will be an evening of recognition and memorial and prayer.”
