Google spinoff Waymo is launching a pilot program with Walmart. It will let customers use its self-driving car service to pick up groceries.

Waymo, which made the announcement in a blog post, said the program will start this week.

The idea is to help make shopping more convenient. In addition to that deal, Waymo said in its post that it plans to be part of the VIP experience when visitors come to Phoenix.

For example, Waymo said it has teamed with Element hotel in Chandler, so guests can use its vehicles during their stay.

It’s also expanding its existing partnerships with AutoNation and Avis Budget Group. Avis will soon provide Waymo cars to its Phoenix customers so they can pick up or drop off their rental cars.

Waymo said that while these partnerships are specific to the Phoenix area, these businesses have a national presence.
