On Friday, President Donald Trump tweeted his latest attack on mainstream media calling journalists "enemies of the people."

While his daughter Ivanka has distanced herself from his statement along with several Republican leaders, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey gave his personal opinion of local reporters.

"I've said before, sometimes I don't like the questions you ask, sometimes you don't like the answers I give, but you're doing your job," he told political reporter Howard Fischer with Capitol Media Services.

He also gave himself credit for being held accountable for the relationship he has with the local media, "which I think is open and accessible. So I don't see the media as the enemy of the people."

Ducey supported Trump's nomination in 2016, but has remained quiet on whether he will seek a reciprocating endorsement in the run-up to the general election in November.
