March For Our Lives Arizona Leader: Ducey Hasn't Acknowledged That Our Group Exists

March For Our Lives Arizona, the student-led organization which was formed after the Parkland School Shooting in February, continues to advocate for gun control in the state, as they try to encourage fellow students to get out and vote in this year's elections.
One of the events the group is organizing is a town hall event on Aug. 14 in Paradise Valley, which is set to feature candidates for governor. So far, Democratic candidates Steve Farley, David Garcia and Kelly Fryer are set to attend, but the group has also reached out to Gov. Doug Ducey and his challenger in the Republican race, Ken Bennett.

The group has worked since earlier this year to try to collaborate with the governor but has yet to hear anything from him or his office, according to March for Our Lives Arizona executive director, Jordan Harb.
"The governor has to this day not even acknowledged that our group exists in any way," Harb said, "and has consistently disregarded any requests we've made to meet."
That is why on Wednesday the group will gather at the Arizona State Capital Rose Garden for an event where the group will hand deliver an invitation for Ducey to participate in next week's town hall. The group will also hold a press conference at the event to discuss their plans for a statewide bus tour to register high school students to vote.
