The Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale was evacuated and closed over the weekend after a monsoon storm knocked out the power. Now, the hotel and casino is staying closed for some more time.

Resort operators said in a statement that they plan to reopen the resort on Aug. 19. Multiple agencies continue to work to restore power and assess storm damage.

Water flowed into an area where primary and backup generators were located, causing significant damage. More than 600 hotel guests were evacuated.

Hotel reservations have been canceled this week, as well as entertainment and gaming activities. Those who were in the casino at the time of the evacuation with gaming chips and slot machine vouchers can redeem them for cash at Casino Arizona, also located in Scottsdale.
