Arizona State University has been named No. 1 in innovation by U.S. News and World Report for the fourth year in a row.

Deputy Provost Stefanie Lindquist says the ranking is based upon a survey of higher education administrators.

“So they would be bringing to mind things like the Starbucks relationship, like the very substantial online presence of ASU, the Global Freshman Academy," Lindquist said, "all of these kinds of things would come to mind to an administrator as they thought about the top ten schools that are most innovative in the United States.”

ASU ranks 115 on the list of National Universities. That ranking is decided based on data like graduation and retention rates, and financial resources. Schools in that category offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs, and emphasize faculty research.
