A national study shows immigration and jobs are not necessarily top of mind for voters coming up in the mid-term election. 

The study released Tuesday by West Health Institute asked for voter concerns state by state regarding six national topics: business or trade, environment, national security, immigration, jobs and the economy, and health care costs.

The report asked 750 Arizona voters their perception on the six topics and found the high cost of health care ranks No. 1.

“And within that, the high cost of prescription drugs,” said Timothy Lash with West Health Institute, “Nearly a third of Arizonans reported not taking or not filling a prescription because of costs.”

The study also found voters strongly support allowing Medicare to directly negotiate for lower prescription drug prices, and having Congress pass laws requiring transparency when drug prices are set.
