Uber has agreed to pay a nationwide settlement of $148 million to address the company’s one-year delay in reporting a data breach to its affected drivers. Arizona’s share will be $2.7 million.

The settlement is part of an agreement reached by Attorney General Mark Brnovich and his counterparts in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Each Uber driver impacted by the breach will get $100.

Brnovich said the money will be distributed as soon as possible.

“The payment cannot be distributed until after the effective date of the settlement, which will be Oct 25. An administrator will be appointed to make sure the right people are getting these hundred dollars in restitution. And so it will be sometime, probably into November," said Brnovich.

He added that the state will receive about $980,000 of the $2.7 million settlement.
