Rain in a Phoenix neighborhood on Oct. 2, 2018.

It’s not a snow day but a rain day for schools and colleges across the Valley as the stormy weather continues.

At least six elementary, middle and high schools and all the Maricopa County community colleges closed early Tuesday because of flooding and street closures.

More than two inches of rain was recorded at Sky Harbor Airport, meaning flooding across desert roads.

New Way Academy in east Phoenix closed, as well as Desert Horizon Elementary in west Phoenix, when the schools flooded.

Rio Vista Elementary in Avondale closed early because of power outages.

Road closures led Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley to send students home early, while flooded washes closed Rainbow Valley Elementary in rural Buckeye.

South Mountain Public Charter School also closed Tuesday.

All local community colleges closed at noon.
