An agriculture technology company is moving its corporate headquarters from the country’s corn belt to Arizona.

AgJunction Inc. makes farm machine technology to help growers with their production.

AgJunction is moving headquarters from east Kansas to Scottsdale because, the CEO said in a statement, of the state’s focus on autonomous and ag tech industries.

Farming and innovative technology go hand-in-hand and AgJunction specifically makes auto steering systems: that’s where the software takes over a field tractor’s steering component.

It’s not unlike automated driving, and can help make precise applications of seeds, pesticides or harvest for the farmer. It's one option of what's being called 'precision agriculture.'

Company officials say the move to Arizona is expected to add expert and entry-level jobs.
