On Wednesday, the nation’s agriculture industry let out a sigh of relief with the passage of the 2019 Farm Bill — it's now headed for President Donald Trump’s desk for his signature.

This was, overall, a swift process. The bill was introduced Monday, voted on by the House on Tuesday, and passed in the Senate on Wednesday. But this bipartisan break-neck speed belies the problems of this past summer, when lawmakers were unable to pass a new Farm Bill before the 2014 version expired back in September.

So what’s in this new bill and how does it impact Arizona’s farmers?

The Show was joined by Chelsea McGuire, director of government relations for the Arizona Farm Bureau to talk about it.

But there's another side to the Farm Bill — a side people often don’t know about.

Eighty percent of the farm bill is actually for nutrition programs, affecting around 15 million food insecure Americans each year.

So how will those be impacted once the president officially signs on?
