Oak Creek rose from about 3 feet to more than 10 feet after a storm system passed through over the weekend. Rain and melting snowfall contributed to the flooding.

More rain, as well as snowfall in higher elevations, is expected before Wednesday.

Sedona Fire District Chief Jayson Coil is advising those in the area to watch the weather, and he’s also advising motorists to drive safely.

“The difference between 6 inches of water and a foot of water can be the difference between your vehicle making it across and not," Coil said. "If there’s water across the roadway, turn around, don’t drive across it.”

According to Coil, the creek’s level has fallen to 4 1/2 feet.
