The 61st Grammy Awards are on Sunday, where all of the past year’s best music will be recognized.

Kendrick Lamar leads with eight nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year, for his song "All the Stars," which was featured in the "Black Panther" movie soundtrack.

Drake follows with seven nominations for "God’s Plan," a song and a music video that went viral last year after Drake went around Miami donating the nearly $1 million that was budgeted for the music video.

Like in 2018, a lot of focus will be on female artists. Last year only 17 of the 86 winners were women. This year eyes are on Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Brandi Carlile and Kacey Musgraves.

Fifteen-time Grammy award-winning artist Alicia Keys will be hosting the award shows, and you can expect performances throughout the night — but a lot of the big names aren't performing. Drake, Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande and Kendrick Lamar all have announced they won’t be on stage.

One anticipated moment during the event is their tribute to Aretha Franklin, who passed away in August 2018.
