A water bottling plant that opened in south Phoenix less than three years ago is closing. The company is moving its operations to other facilities.

Nestle is the world’s largest water bottling company. It cited competition as the reason for the closure. The company says the 15 employees will be offered severance packages and possibly jobs at other facilities.

Nestle also announced the closure of another bottling plant in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, in December. The release then also cited competition as the reason for that plant’s shutdown.

Meanwhile the company acquired a bottling plant in High Springs, Florida, last month

Following the purchase, the company said, “We are evolving our operations to better support the future needs of our business and position the company for long-term success.”

That same phrasing was used following the closures of the Phoenix and Tennessee plants.
