The nearly 18-month campaign to be the next mayor of Phoenix ended Tuesday night, as Kate Gallego defeated Daniel Valenzuela by about 16 points in the runoff election.

The former councilwoman will face many challenges — including the next steps for light rail and management of the Talking Stick Resort Arena's renovation. Gallego will be sworn in on March 21, one week from Wednesday.

She joined The Show to talk about her win.
