The stadium where the Phoenix Rising soccer team plays will now be known as Casino Arizona Field.

Team governor Berke Bakay announced the naming rights deal Friday.

The stacks of red bleachers and green football pitch are just north of the Loop 202 Freeway on Salt-River Pima Maricopa Indian Community land. The tribe also owns Casino Arizona.

“It’s the similar values that we share and the strength of a multi-year partnership and being able to associate ourselves with a great brand was ultimately the decision maker,” Bakay said.

The exact terms of the deal were not disclosed. Bakay said the team has grown from two sponsors when it started two years ago to more than 50 for the current season. Saturday's game against New Mexico United will be the first in the newly named stadium.

“We know the fans that are seeking out the kind of fun that you experience here with... Phoenix Rising football will also enjoy the kind of fun we have to offer at Casino Arizona,” said casino spokesman  Ramon Martinez.

Phoenix Rising is part of the United Soccer League, a second-tier professional league.  The team was the runner up in the 2018 championship.

Phoenix Rising games often sell out. Bakay said the 6,200-seat stadium will soon expand to eventually accommodate 10,000 people and add a new road to speed entering and exiting the complex.
