The Arizona Department of Transportation is looking to partner with businesses across the state to bring brand awareness to the state’s 511 travel information line.

Tom Herrmann, spokesman for ADOT, said businesses will be able to place their logo on signs underneath the agency’s 511 logo, which urges motorists to contact the agency for travel information.

Herrmann said the money generated will go to the Arizona State Highway Fund.

“This will help pay for highway maintenance repairs around the state, just as the existing logo signs," Herrmann said. "This will help keep taxes low around the state by using the funds from the 511 logo program to help with freeway work.”

Herrmann said these new signs will be placed near highway exits primarily in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. But Herrmann said the agency hopes to expand the signage to other cities later this year.
