A new 50-state election security report from the Center for American Progress finds that most election systems remain vulnerable to hacking and other interference by foreign governments.

Arizona received a “D” grade in the report.

According to Liz Kennedy, CAP’s senior director of Democracy and Government Reform, voter databases like e-poll books represent the greatest cybersecurity threat.

“It looks like the paper copies of voter registration lists are not available at all polling places that use electronic poll books. Also only some of those are tested prior to Election Day," Kennedy said.

Matt Roberts, director of communications for Secretary of State Michele Reagan, said she will be sharing the report with the Legislature and county election officials. Most of the changes Reagan would like to see require legislation or a financial commitment from the state or the counties.

Reagan’s office is pleased that the processes they have direct control over, like testing of election equipment, received good reviews.
