KJZZ partners with the Arizona Republic to bring you the Arizona Storytellers series. We record the live events and share them with you on the radio. In Phoenix, the storytellers share stories about our community or the life events that have shaped them.

Will Brown is from St. Louis. From a young age, he was good at football. When Will got a football scholarship to Missouri S&T, he was excited for the opportunity to open doors for his family and community.

Will also enjoyed science and technology and pursued an engineering degree. At the end of his senior year, Will paired up with EXOS, a company that helped him fine tune his athletic ability before the NFL draft. To his joy, Will was signed to the Tennessee Titans for a $5 million contract.

But three weeks into the season, Will was released. He didn't get picked up by any other NFL teams, and Will felt a little lost.

Will Brown is a project engineer with EXOS in Phoenix.

The next storytelling event is Wednesday, Nov. 13, at The Farm at South Mountain. To learn more about the Arizona Storytellers project or how to tell your own story, visit storytellersproject.com
