March is Women’s History Month, and many Arizona women are working to ensure that history is well documented in-person and online.

The Scottsdale Public Library is hosting a Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon on Saturday morning to add information about women’s history into Wikipedia articles.

The editors will research using library resources and add information on pages about women, feminism and their art.

Librarian Michelle Vorves Cabrales is helping host the event.

"There’s only about 16% of contributors on Wikipedia that are female," Vorves Cabrales said. "Since so many people are visiting this website, we want the stories about women, just marginalized groups in general, to be told and not to be misrepresented."

The hands-on training and editing workshop will last for four hours. Anyone who is interested can register on the library’s website.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This story has been updated to correct the spelling of Michelle Vorves Cabrales's name.
