Picture this: A glass dome house in the desert. It’s an unlikely concept that came to life in 1949, born from the minds of Paolo Soleri and Mark Mills.

In the years since, not many people have had the chance to tour it. But now, the Cosanti Foundation is partnering with Modern Phoenix to offer a few tours of the property, which has beguiled architects for decades. 

The Show drove down a dirt road in Carefree recently to get a tour of it from Mary Hoadley, a longtime Arcosanti resident and senior adviser to the project.
