Tucson Extends COVID-19 Emergency Proclamation Until Early June

Residents of Tucson will continue to sit tight for at least another three weeks as Mayor Regina Romero announced Saturday she is extending the city’s emergency proclamation until June 8.
The proclamation has been in place for nearly two months, and it will be adjusted to align with Gov. Doug Ducey’s executive order signed earlier this week.
When city buildings and facilities are allowed to reopen next month, visitors will have to wear face masks, and some might even have to have their temperature taken.
Buildings will have restriction notices posted in plain sight, city employees will still be encouraged to work from home and the moratoriums on water fees and evictions remain intact.
To support the expansion of public seating areas, Mayor Romero has waived certain city rules in favor of county-wide measures.
