A space mystery has been solved, with the help of researchers at the University of Arizona.
This fall, astronomers started tracking a near-Earth object, which became known as 2020 SO. But they weren’t sure what it was.
Vishnu Reddy and his team started sleuthing, and what they discovered turned out to be a link to NASA’s history.
Reddy is a professor of planetary science at the Lunar and Planetary Lab at the U of A . He describes his job as figuring out what an object that might hit the Earth is made of — but for the record, he’s not worried about 2020 SO crashing into the planet.
The Show caught up with him and asked him how this object first came to be on his radar.
