Public pools in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa will reopen this weekend with several facilities requiring advance online registration.

City of Mesa spokesperson Kevin Christopher said the changes are in effect to maintain social distancing.

“We are limiting the public swim at all nine pools to 220 people per one hour and fifty minute time frame,” he said.

Christopher says people can sign up for time slots on the city’s website.

Masks will be optional in facility lobbies, locker rooms and around the pools.
