What the Valley's heat and air quality are doing to our health

It’s hot. For the first time this year, we’re looking at an excessive heat warning all the way through this weekend, when temperatures are expected to hit 114.

The heat can be dangerous for our health in lots of ways, but on top of that, the summer also brings more pollution and ozone here in this desert metropolis.

Dr. Ave Arellano is a professor in hydrology and atmospheric sciences at the University of Arizona.

The Show spoke with him more about heat and pollution, beginning with just how hot things could get this summer.
