The Biden administration has announced it will bring back the Federal Interagency Council on Outdoor Recreation.

It's part of an effort to conserve public lands.

The interagency program got its start during the Obama administration, and helped launch the Recreation.gov online reservation site and Every Kid Outdoors.

But the program was later dropped. It’s part of the Biden administration’s America the Beautiful Initiative, which wants to conserve 30% of America’s public lands by 2030 and improve affordable access to the outdoors.

Tens of millions of people visit federal public lands in Arizona each year, which include national parks, forests and Bureau of Land Management areas.
