A group called Street Cop Training is charging about $300 per police officer to attend a class scheduled for Aug. 24 in the far southeast Valley.

The company also fights against subpoenas by New Jersey oversight officials in connection with its 2021 October conference in Atlantic City that featured a conservative firebrand.

The speaker was Tomi Lahren. She was quoted by the Washington Post as having told more than 1,000 police officers at the Street Cop Training conference that Black Lives Matter is a terrorist organization.

Now the company has scheduled a proactive patrol tactics class in San Tan Valley.

An instructor talks about a traffic stop in a promotion video for the course.

“He’s smoking. What’d I tell you about smoking? Nervous, covering up an odor or smoking their last cigarette before they go to jail. Only three reasons,” the instructor says in part of the video.

Street Cop Training has fought in court subpoenas by the New Jersey comptroller, which the New Jersey Monitor reports is probing public spending by police departments to attend the company’s 2021 conference.
