Same-sex marriage isn't settled on the Navajo Nation. Here's why

Same-sex marriage has been legal in the United States since 2015, but in some tribal nations, the effort to legalize same-sex marriage isn’t over yet. And now, on the Navajo Nation, the issue is front and center.
There, tribal leaders would have to repeal the 2005 Diné Marriage Act, which banned same-sex unions. But the issue is anything but settled on the country’s largest reservation.
