ASU professor says SCOTUS likely to rule in Trump's favor in Colorado ballot case

On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on an appeal of a ruling by Colorado’s top court that keeps Donald Trump off the state’s ballot.
Paul Bender is a constitutional law professor with ASU. Based on the justices’ questions, Bender says they seemed skeptical of the case made by Colorado lawyers that states have a say on who can be on federal ballots.
"That goes together with their general democratic feelings, that people should vote for whoever they want to vote for, that you shouldn’t remove someone from the ballot who seems to be very popular. I think they will all come together and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a unanimous decision," Bender said.
It’s not clear how quickly the justices will issue their decision.
