Health officials warn of possible measles exposure in Flagstaff

Health officials in Coconino County are warning of a possible measles exposure in Flagstaff, with one case already confirmed.

Coconino County Health and Human services spokeswoman Trish Lees says officials have identified five public locations where people may have been exposed to the virus, along with dates and times when exposure might have occurred:

Planet Fitness, 4650 US Hwy 89, Flagstaff, AZ

  • Sunday, Feb. 11, from 11 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 12, at 9 a.m.

NextCare Urgent Care, 399 S Malpais Ln STE 100, Flagstaff, AZ

  • Sunday, Feb. 18 

Joann Fabric and Craft, 1514 S Riordan Ranch Rd, Flagstaff AZ

  • Thursday, Feb. 29, from noon-4 p.m.

Flagstaff Medical Center, Emergency Department, 1200 N Beaver St, Flagstaff, AZ

  • Sunday, March 3 
  • Tuesday, March 5 

SimonMed Imaging, Flagstaff, 1000 N Humphreys St #100, Flagstaff, AZ

  • Monday, March 4 

Lees also urges individuals who think they may have been exposed to contact health services. 

“Measles is highly contagious, about nine out of 10 individuals that are exposed to measles who aren’t protected through vaccination, or had the illness, are likely to contract the disease.”

Residents are encouraged to check coconino.az.gov for a list of locations where they might have been exposed.
