Living Social Closes Tucson Call Center
The daily deals provider, which is similar to Groupon, notified more than 100 Arizona employees on Wednesday that their jobs are being eliminated.
In a written statement, Living Social says it’s also cutting 160 jobs that had been performed remotely and at company headquarters in Washington, D.C. Employees are reportedly being offered severance packages and the continuation of health benefits.
The layoffs come as Living Social moves away from offering voucher-based discounts across multiple categories and countries and evolves into a digital business that focuses on events and experiences in the North America-based marketplace.
Living Social says it has been testing new products, including Restaurants Plus, a card-linked program which has shown initial success with high adoption from restaurants and positive early feedback from consumers.
