Peoria Pays More Than $1 Million To Help Fill Vacant Buildings

A Christian college and an entertainment company are the first recipients in Peoria's P83 Building Reuse Program.
Huntington University’s branch campus will get $737,596 to open this fall in the former Dolce Salon building at 8700 W. Kelton Lane.
The Modern Round Entertainment Corporation will collect $655,166 to open its virtual shooting lounge in the former Fox and Hound restaurant and bar buidling at 8320 W. Mariners Way.
The P83 Building Reuse Program is designed to attract businesses, fill vacant buildings and increase foot traffic in the P83 District which is just south of Bell Road on 83rd Avenue.
Qualified projects can get anywhere from $250,000 to $1,000,000.
